HOHP began as a small group in 2011 that consisted of Veterans and community organizations that recognized the need to work on building a network of support for Veterans and Military Families in Pinal County. The apparent lack of services in the county was the driving factor that led the group to form an organization that could begin to serve Veterans in communities countywide and educate the public on Veteran’s needs. In 2013, the group elected their first board and applied to become a 501c-3 non-profit organization – March 3, 2014 HOHP began its official status as a non-profit!!
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors and the Gila River Indian Community has allowed HOHP the ability to provide services to Veterans utilizing the Veterans Mobile Veteran Outreach Center "Eagle One" - a 39 ft. RV the makes scheduled runs throughout the county to the communities. HOHP is proud to be able to provide services and make connections for Veterans and Military Families to other organizations in our county to improve their lives!
Our first Veterans Center - HOHP Pinal County Veterans Center - Eagles Landing, opened in January 2017 - providing much needed services to over 18,000 Veterans and their families in the first five years!! We recently (July 2022) transitioned to a new facility at 100 E. Florence Blvd., Casa Grande! Our own building - our own home - for OUR Veterans.
In 2019, Horizon Behavioral Health gifted a building to HOHP to bring alive the dream of having a Veterans Transition Center that will help homeless Veterans and those who are in various transition in their lives! Fundraising efforts have begun along with seeking donations and grants that will help bring this facility to life for OUR Pinal County Veterans!
Renovation continues on the new Veterans Transition Center and HOHP is blessed to have many Veteran organizations, businesses, and private donors that have sponsored a room that helped pay for the first floor renovations. Paint, flooring, new lights, computer resource room development, new ramadas are just a few of the great things completed out at the new facility!!
HOHP received a grant from the Arizona Department of Veterans Services to fix the roof and put in brand new windows!! HOHP was very honored to be selected in2021 for this funding!! There are two more grants to be received in 2022 to help complete the project so we can open!
